Our school celebrates Veterans Day!

I wish I could include pictures of my kids. We sang "God Bless America" for the program and we rocked the house! We had presenters come in and spend the day teaching our kids about military life and sacrifice. Of course we had a Marine officer in dress blues too!! OOOOORAH! Our school of 1000 was covered in patriotic art work...it was beautiful!

Happy 40th Birthday Kristi!!!!

I did have a very nice bday, thanks to all for the cards, flowers and so on...the day really did feel special, even though I'm old.

This is what Stan called the Birthday Alter...ready and waiting for me to come home. He also made the bday card - 5 pages long, including pictures of us, funny captions and a lovely poem on the last page...oh yeah and it was fastened together with ribbons.

Notice the wrapping job...hmmm - is that duck tape?

Carrot cake cupcakes...yummy

New Job number.......I'v lost count!

Here's my new classroom...Yep, back to teaching at a school right near home. John and Beth did my door!! Thank the Lord cause I certainly didn't have the time or the talent to do it! I'm teaching Pre-K again.

The kids were so perfect for the first week, I felt depressed. I told Steve, "Anyone could teach these kids...what am I supposed to do all day?" Then one of my little darlings had a melt down and kicked me, and spit in my face. I said AMEN!!, I CAN stay here--there's work for me to do. What a relief.

The boys turn out.

Alright, so now it is the boys turn. Josh and I went to Virginia on a revolutionary war scouting mission. Above is a picture of the reconstructed siege earth works that were put up by the rebel Americans at Yorktown.

Here is Josh below the freedom monument at Yorktown put up in 1881. It  celebrates the victory where General Cornwallis surrendered to General George Washington in 1781, although fighting went on for another year.

From there it is to the 301- acre Colonial Williamsburg where Josh took this picture of the craftsmanship of the blacksmith that kept his attention for 30 minutes. Also as part of the admission we went thru the Governors Palace, the Capital, Public-Gaol (jail), gunsmith, and a few other buildings including the church which is still in use today. We also went to Jamestown for a short tour.

And since we are this close, we went to the ocean at Virginia Beach to swim. This was a first for Josh swimming and being thrown about by the ocean waves. Did I also mention I was able to get a speeding ticket? The Camry is faster then you think, I guess.

Introducing Jack

Here is our newly adopted Vizsla. They can be highly sociable when brought up around people, and are good pointing dogs for hunting.

And its a good thing for us that we have 4 kids to tire out one puppy.

So Caleb is feeling a little left out and will stop at nothing to recover his rightful spot as the baby and sole attention winner.
